Mr Davis,
1 - We attempted to deposit the check into my account at Bank of Hawaii tod=
ay.=A0 The bank advises the following regarding accepting this check into a=
ccount.
- They cannot process it through normal channels, because it is drawn on Ba=
nk of Montreal, an international bank with no branch offices in the U.S., a=
nd because it is a large sum of money.
-=A0They would need to process the check=A0for collection from Bank of Mont=
real through their "Collection Dept", and this=A0processing could take up t=
o 2-4 weeks to accomplish.
- The processing would incur fees, both from Bank of Hawaii & Bank of Montr=
eal, which=A0I would have to pay.
- The forms which Bank of Hawaii=A0needs to accomplish this processing will=
require my signature, and since I am in Guam until July 18, we could not e=
ven start the process until then.=A0 That means that the earliest the funds=
would be available in my account would be early-to-mid August.
2 - They=A0emphasize=A0and strongly recommend that the best option for tran=
sfering funds into my account from Bank of Montreal is to accomplish an ele=
ctronic wire transfer of the money directly from bank to bank.=A0 This coul=
d be done immediately, with minimal fees or delays in funds availability.
Please advise how you wish to proceed,
Yours truly,
