I have to admit that I felt a little sad because my question about the airport
closest to you has remained unanswered.
Perhaps you have your own reasons for not replying, and I completely respect that.
Still, I hope that one day you will feel comfortable enough to tell me.
First of all, I want to apologize for not writing to you as often as
I would like and for not always replying to everything you share in your letters.
Please believe that it is not because I am not interested.
Right now, almost all of my time is devoted to preparing the documents
I need for my move, and some days simply pass by before I have a chance to do everything.
Please don't think that I am trying to rush you or put any pressure on you.
That is not my intention at all. I simply want to be honest with you.
No matter what happens, I have already made the decision to leave here
and begin a new chapter in my life.
I would like to trust you enough to tell you a little more about myself.
I hope you won't judge me for it.
As I have already told you, I have never been in a relationship.
I am still a virgin, and I have never had sex. I grew up in a very strict and conservative family,
so talking about love, relationships, or intimacy is still not easy for me.
You may even find it hard to believe, but I have never tasted alcohol in my life.
I live in Kyrgyzstan, where traditions are still very strong.
It is not unusual here for parents to choose a husband for their daughter.
But I have always dreamed of choosing my own future and the person I would love.
That is one of the biggest reasons why I want to leave and start a new life.
I am not asking you to promise me anything, and I don't expect anything from you.
I believe only time can tell whether we are meant to be together.
Whatever the future brings, I will always respect your decision.
If you would like us to meet one day,
it would mean a lot to me if you could tell me which airport is closest to where you live.
If you prefer not to, I can always fly to the capital of your country instead.
I just think it would make our first meeting much easier and
more comfortable if I arrived closer to you.
There is one more thing that is very important for me to say.
I don't want you to think that I am using you as a way to leave my country.
That would never be fair. I have spent several years saving money,
and I have already saved enough to pay for my move on my own.
Within the next few days, I expect to receive an invitation from the visa center.
I am waiting for that message with so much hope because it will bring
me one step closer to beginning a new life.
And I have to admit... one of the happiest thoughts I have is that, perhaps,
in that new life, I will finally have the chance to meet you.
I truly hope my letter hasn't frightened you. I simply wanted to open my heart
to you and be completely honest. Honesty is something I value deeply,
and I promise that I will always be sincere with you.
I sincerely hope that after reading this letter,
you will tell me which airport is closest to you.
More than anything,
I hope that one day we can meet—not only through words and photographs,
but in real life.
