I thought I’d send you the first letter and maybe just get a polite reply, and that would be it… But now I catch myself eagerly waiting for your words. Funny, isn’t it? Like opening a door on a summer evening and not knowing who’s behind it and it’s you.
Today I had a strange day at work. One patient said, Katya, you should smile more often, or the wrinkles will get you first! I laughed. And thought maybe a smile protects better than any sunscreen. What about you? Do you smile often? Or do you have that serious charisma that makes everyone instantly lost? 
I’m not just a podiatrist, but a kind of summer psychotherapist people bring so many stories, sometimes touching and so different. And I often think how important it is just to be there and listen… Maybe that’s why I wrote to you.

Also… sometimes when I walk through the city in the evening, I think: what if I lived somewhere else or in another time? Do you ever dream about who you would be if life had turned out differently?
I feel like we met at the right moment. Not because we’re missing something, but to share what we already have. For someone to see and understand. Not immediately, but gradually.
I’m from Ukraine, now far from home the war made me leave. But I don’t want you to see me as a victim. I’m strong and fighting for my happiness, just like each of us.
